If you lead me, I’ll go

If you lead me, I’ll go,

You knew me from birth,

You watched me grow,

You knew what I would become long ago,

You also knew the difficulties I would undergo,

You made it all joy and pain the rain and the snow,

You bring me out of darkness and put me on a different plateau,

When I try to do it my way, it’s like a wind blowing me to and fro,

You made me from my head to my toes,

You’re not like man, you love me no matter my foes,

You paid the ultimate price for me, so to you, my life is what I owe,

Your will is perfect, and the grace and mercy you bestow,

Guides me into an overflow,

No wonder why the title of this poem is that if you lead me, I’ll go,
